POPS is a light-weight, high-performance, and relatively low-cost particle counter. It is the ideal tool for measuring aerosol size distributions using unmanned platforms and ground-based sensor networks. Applications include aerosol profiling on unmanned platforms such as radiosonde balloons, tethered balloons, and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), ambient environmental monitoring networks and particle measurements in remote environments. The POPS accurately measures particle diameters between approximately 0.15 to 3.0 um using single-particle light scattering with a power consumption of ~ 5 W. The POPS can be supplied with a variety of enclosure types depending on the desired application or sold without an enclosure for users desiring maximum configurability.
